The Presence Of God

This powerful teaching confronts a sobering reality: nearly half of American Christians have stopped attending church, often because they've never truly experienced God's tangible presence. We're invited beyond mere theological knowledge into an authentic, life-transforming encounter with the living God. Drawing from the lives of Moses, David, and Paul, we discover what it means to be carriers of God's manifest presence—not just acknowledging that God is everywhere, but actually experiencing Him in real, tangible ways. Moses refused to take a single step without God's presence guiding him. David cried out that dwelling in God's presence was the one thing he desired above all else. Paul counted everything as loss just to know Christ intimately. These weren't religious routines; these were passionate pursuits of relationship. The teaching challenges us to examine what we've allowed to become idols in our lives—whether money, success, relationships, or entertainment—anything we've placed above God. It calls us to protect the presence of God over our lives by guarding our hearts against offense and unforgiveness, which create spiritual dryness and disconnect us from the divine. When we truly live in God's presence through worship, prayer, and surrender, transformation becomes inevitable. His presence exposes what needs to change in us, and while holiness may be uncomfortable and transformation costly, the reward is intimacy with the Creator Himself. We're reminded that God doesn't want empty religious duty; He desires people who seek His face with genuine hunger, spending quality time in His presence until His glory becomes so real we can feel its weight upon us.
