Baruch Haba B'Shem Adonai!

Mar 8, 2026    Pastor Alex

This message invites us into a profound shift in how we cry out to God—from desperate pleas without hope to confident declarations of His present salvation. The Hebrew phrase 'Baruch Haba B'shem Adonai' (Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord) becomes our anthem as we discover that Christ doesn't just dwell in us passively, but actively rises up from within to save us moment by moment. Through the imagery of Jesus entering Jerusalem on a donkey, we're confronted with the narrow path of humility and meekness that leads to resurrection life. The donkey isn't the majestic horse we might expect for a king, but it represents the lowly, contrite spirit that God honors. We learn that our Christian walk isn't about trying harder to imitate Jesus from a distance, asking 'What would Jesus do?' but rather experiencing 'What is Jesus doing right now in my heart?' The transition from Psalm 22's anguished cry 'My God, why have you forsaken me?' to its triumphant conclusion 'He has answered me' mirrors our own journey from death to resurrection. We're challenged to stop living as if we're drowning with no lifeguard in sight, and instead recognize that our Savior is already swimming toward us—or better yet, already dwelling within us. This isn't about our circumstances changing first, but about experiencing inward deliverance that brings peace regardless of external storms. When we allow Christ to rise up within us, we move from contradiction to reality, from pretending to be Christian to actually living by His life.
